WHAT IS THAI MASSAGE?

The Art of Relaxation & Recovery

Thai massage is an ancient tradition originating from Thailand, turning into one of the most popular forms of massage in the world. It distinguishes itself with its own, unique set of techniques focusing on the Vital Energy Channels of the human body, resulting in exceptional benefits for the body and the soul. Thai massage is most beneficial for relaxation and stress relief, helping the body unwind, free itself from tensions, as well as restore itself. A wide variety of massage techniques are applied, including different forms of stretching and application of pressure on certain points on the body. Thai massage offers a multitude of health benefits by stimulating blood circulation and detoxifying the body. In addition, Thai massage improves the flexibility of muscles and joints, decreases pain, and improves the overall health and well-being of the entire body and mind.

Based on the traditions of the East, combining aspects of Chinese medicine (acupressure) and Tibetan yoga, Thai massage on a mat has been officially classified as a Cultural Inheritance of Thailand – as a UNESCO-protected cultural practice.

Thai massage has the power to reboot and fully restart the human body.
Traditional Thai massage on a mat is reminiscent of passive yoga, with therapeutic powers of stretching and activating the Vital Energy Pathways of the body towards the attainment of optimal balance and harmony. The massage is performed with specially designed Thai clothing for both sides - the massage therapist and the special guest over a mat on the floor.

Back Massage

SWEDISH MASSAGE

It is the most common of all massage techniques, also known as Classical Massage. It aims to achieve tension relief and relaxation. It may loosen muscles, increase blood flow and lymph drainage, and relax.  Depending on the preferences of the receiver, the therapist can apply light, medium, or firm pressure, as well as increase focus on problem zones of the body.

Essential Oils

AROMATHERAPY

Aromatherapy can be combined with almost all massage types, combining the healing power of essential oils with the benefits of massage therapy benefiting both the mind and the body. Fragrant essential oils – natural (plant-based) oils which are extracted from herbs, trees and flowers, each one having its own unique properties which provide a wide range of therapeutic benefits. The essential oils are applied on the skin during the massage, as well as diffused in the air, so to alleviate pain, detoxify and deliver an indulging experience both for the mind and body – improving the mood and the overall physical condition. The aromas breathed in during the aromatherapy session are able to directly influence the emotions of the receiver.

Pressure Point Massage

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Like Swedish massage, Deep Tissue Massage goes one farther to address the condition of athletes, people with physically stressed bodies, people experiencing chronic pain in certain areas of their body with many of the same movements as in the Swedish massage, but by applying far more pressure. The massage targets muscles, tendons, and fascia (connective tissue) and could, occasionally, be painful for the receiver.

Back Massage

TRIGGER POINT MASSAGE

Instant Pain Relief

It focuses on working on sensitive, sore spots where the muscle fibers have become tight and contracted due to muscle overuse and ineffective muscle recovery. The Trigger Point Massage can be painful because it targets localized tender or irritable spots in the muscles, aiming to relieve pain and tension in these areas through isolated pressure and release. This type of massage is performed in order to restore normal function of the muscle and surrounding area. By applying pressure over the trigger point, circulation to the area increases and fresh, oxygenated blood is pushed in, waste material is flushed out, which allows the muscle fibres to relax and provides soothing. The massage can contribute in aiding recovery from an injury and focus on the neck, shoulders and back can promote good posture.

THAI YOGA MASSAGE ON A MAT

Traditional Thai Massage is based on the theory and practice of working the 10 Main Energy Lines “Sen Sib” of the human body.

These invisible pathways run through our bodies and distribute Vital Life Energy or Universal Energy. Thai Massage techniques include applying pressure, acupressure, rocking, stretching, Yoga etc. all the while being in complete unison with the breathing and the unique vibe of each person.

This ancient massage practice of the East which, with the passage of time, has converted itself into an anti-stress therapy which balances the body and mind.
